Dave Often founded the company in 1996 with twenty years of industry experience. Starting in Wellsville, PA he quickly outgrew that space and moved to York, PA to occupy 3200 square feet. In just one year, Apple Fasteners had more than doubled in sales and inventory and once again moved to a new 7, 000 square foot office in Mechanicsburg, PA. Dave took on a partner to fortify the expansion and Apple Fasteners remained at the East Trindle Road location until December of 1999. Around this time Mr. Often decided to sell ownership of the company to Mr. William P. Gula, with Often remaining onboard as General Manager. Once again, expansion was needed and a new 38,000 square foot building was purchased at Simpson Ferry Road, Camp Hill, in December of 1999. In 2004, Apple Fasteners leased an additional 22,000 square feet at an offsite location for bulk inventory. The main warehouse was expanded to 65,000 square feet when we leased a new space in June of 2006 at 2850 Appleton Street in Camp Hill, PA. In 2009 we were able to sell the smaller building on Simpson Ferry Road and move our administrative offices to Appleton Street where we reside today, as well as expanding our distribution capabilities by opening a second warehouse in Puryear Tennessee.
The traditional values of family and community support are very evident at Apple Fasteners. When starting the company, Mr. Often found the support he received from family and friends invaluable to fostering successful growth. Mr. Often employs many of his close family members and friends, and has done so since the start of Apple Fasteners. In all his employees he looks for integrity, trust, dedication and team spirit.
Since 1996 to present day, Apple Fasteners has trended in a positive direction. Many factors have attributed to such a rapid and impressive escalation. Mr. Often ascribes our growth to the following factors: Acquisition, New Product Offerings, Customer Referrals, Technology, and Strong Buying Power. The most important factor, however, is our employees, their dedication to the customer and attention to detail. Without hesitation, Mr. Often believes in the dominance of our company's market share. "We are the best because we work the hardest", says Mr. Often.
We feel very fortunate to have customers who have remained loyal and faithful in the abilities of Apple Fasteners. The trust placed in our organization is a vote of confidence for every employee at Apple.
